Battambang extends along the river (Stung or Steung) Sangker, is the center of a very fertile agricultural area and trades with Thailand, is called "the rice bowl of Cambodia". The cultivation of exotic fruit is also widespread. The city is full of buildings from the colonial period, the best known of which is the Governor's Residence, built by the last Thai Governor in Battambang.

Wat Kor Village

Located 2 km from the Battambang city, Wat Kor is known for its Cambodian tradition. A walk or bike ride to this village is ideal to discover the pagoda of Wat Kor, the most ancient pagoda throughout the country. You have an opportunity to meet sincere and friendly local people.

Phnom Sampov

Phnom Sampov  is an imposing limestone mountain with a height of 100 meters, located on the road to Pailin, 18 km from Battambang. At the top of the mountain, it is found at pagoda with many stupas and 3 caves: Pkasla, Aksopheak and Lakhaon, where in the 1980s the Khmer Rouge killed the inhabitants. Despite his tragic past, Phnom Sampov is always a well-known place to visit.

Phnom Banan

Phnom Banan  was built on top of the Banan hill about 400 meters above sea level. This temple is accessible by a stairway of 358 laterite steps. In the upper part, there is a panoramic view to the meandering Sangker river that is found in the middle of rice fields, sugar palms, and small villages.

Bamboo train

Battambang is famous for being afertile of Cambodia and bamboo trains. Platform train with simple tools & a set of metal wheels. This local rail transport uses a petrol engine. These traces were built in 1930 by the French. This particular activity is funny and unique. Since there is only a single railway line, if there are two car at the same time, one must then remove from the rail for the other to pass and then re-embarking to continue. The speed is very impressive: 40 km per hour.

Wat Ek Phnom

Located 12 km from Battambang, Wat Ek Phnom was built in 11th  century from sandstone. We are keen to show you an ancient Khmer temple. This is a place with a relaxing atmosphere.
