Southern Vietnam Trip

Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City formerly known as Saigon or "Pearl of the Far East", you will be welcomed by our guide and brought to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the largest city of Vietnam with its wide elegant boulevards and historic French colonial buildings at your leisure. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, depart for My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. A boat trip along the Mekong Delta to visit XEP canals, where you can totally escape from the noisy city. Disembarkation and a walk around the floating village. Stop at a local family to enjoy tropical fruits, honey tea and listen to traditional Vietnamese music, a performance by the villagers. Today we will visit Vung Tau city: White Palace, Lighthouse tower, Kito Statue, Vung Tau Museum, Ho Phap Pagoda and free time for beach relax. Lunch will be served at local restaurant, then in the late afternoon transfer back to Sai Gon. Overnight in hotel

In the morning, drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, situated 70km from Saigon. The Cu Chi Tunnel system was created around 1948 to assist the Viet Minh in their combat against French occupiers. Construction and enlargement continued during American bombings and they were turned into an underground city with living areas, kitchens, storage, weapon factories and field hospitals. Lunch will be served at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will drive to Tay Ninh, 100km from Ho Chi Minh, to visit the ornate temple of Cao Dai and attend a fantastic mid-day service. Caodaism followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of this curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. In the late afternoon, drive to Hotel 986 , End of tour (Driver drop you at the hotel and return to Saigon.
